There have been a few changes since your last appointment with us!
We continue to ensure that your safety is our number one concern. Government guidelines are changing frequently but we try our best to adhere to these and update you where possible.
If you are worried or have any questions about your appointment with us, you can call us to speak with one of receptionists for reassurance. We continue to wear full PPE for all procedures to comply with infection protection and control procedures, have an air purifier in each surgery for additional safety and regularly apply latest government guidelines to keep you safe.
Our excellent team are kept up to date with regular protocols and training to ensure the highest possible standard of safety. As a result of this we are able to treat as many patients as possible within practice.
As before, please ensure you attend the appointment only a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time, wearing a mask where medically possible within the dental practice and limit any bags that you may need to bring along with you.
As you walk through the door there is a sanitisation station for you to clean your hands on arrival. Our receptionists at the desk will be wearing PPE when you walk to the front desk. We will ask if you’ve recently had any covid symptoms and update this on the system. If you have any covid symptoms, please do not attend the surgery.
Sometimes this may be difficult, but please attend alone if an adult, or with one parent/responsible adult if you are accompanying a child. We understand this may be difficult but please do not delay having dental treatment, we are happy to help you.
Again, please contact us on 0116 260 7625 if you have any questions. If you have an appointment booked in, we will expect to see you as usual unless you are not able to attend for any reason and need to cancel. We thank you for your support currently during this time.
There are many treatments that we perform that we can continue to perform on a normal basis as we have already raised the levels of sanitising and PPE throughout the practice. Hence there is no additional charge for these treatments. However, there are a few treatments that are referred to as Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGP’s). We can do these, subject to meeting very stringent rules. There is a surcharge for these treatments because they now take much longer; they require a higher level of PPE and necessitate total sanitising of the surgery after every treatment. However, from the 1st November there will be no surcharge due to installing air purifiers into each surgery and will require less fallow time.
These are procedures that create higher levels of airborne particles. E.G. the hygienists ultrasonic scaler.
When we use this type of equipment there are current guidelines that we must adhere too:
1) PPE: The level of protective equipment we wear is much higher; clinicians and their nurses will be dressed like surgeons!
2) Fallow time: Following these treatments there is a period of time we must vacate the surgery to allow airborne particles to settle after which we must sanitise the entire surgery.
We thank you for your continued co-operation and understanding during this time.
